Ha HA! Bussers rule!
So this has nothing really to do with food, but it does have to do with the restaurant buisness and all of its calamities.
I was at work yesterday in the AM, just doing what I do. Cooking, when I hear a CRASH! and a SMASH! off to my right. I know from the sound that two plates just met a horrible ending. Then again CRASH! ("oops!" I think to myself, "that's three!") then... CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CR-CR-CR-CRASH! CRASH!!!! I look over to the right and a HUGE pile of plates is sliding off of a storage table and smashing to the ground all around some poor bussers feet! The look on his horrified face was great! There was nothing he could do but wait for this tragedy to end. He tried to catch and stop some of them but to no avail. It was awesome! They ALL smashed around his feet and the whole kitchen stopped production and just stared at him for what seemed to him, I'm sure, an eternity. I laughed (on the inside, no need to draw the chef's rage my way) and then continued on with breakfast. What a bad day for that kid, huh?

Yup, got skillz
Aight, so I'm new to LiveJournal, just got an account and I happen to be off work today when I came accross this community and I thought "yup, I got mad kitchen skilz!, this is my new home!". So here I am. Here's an idea for a lunch special I ran last week. Fettucini w/yellow tomato sauce, fresh herbs (thyme, oregano, rosemary) and sun-dried tomato pesto. Its served with a big slab of garlic baguette...mmm mmm garlic. It kicks ass man! Its simple and oh so tasty. The yellow tomato sauce seemed to confuse the servers, but thats not hard to do. : ) I took a picture of it but I don't understand yet how to post pictures in my entries so when I figure it out, I'll post it. It looks sexy. Its good to be here, I hope to learn some new recipes and share some of mine. Adios and Ciao

Hi! I'm in the process of writing a vegetarian world-fusion cookbook. My journal, vunderfood, exists pretty much only to share some of the recipes on it.

So anyone who's interested, let me know what you think! Thank you!

Okay, I'll kick it up a bit
Hello, I'm new.

I was just put on a 2-week leave from work due to injury, and got bored and discovered Livejournal. And, discovered a lot of recipes - and then realized that I actually own 75 cookbooks, which is somehow really scary.

So, hi.

Hi Everybody!
I just joined and am so excited. I've been on the search for a fun cooking community. I love all types of food, my favorites being Thai, Italian, Chinese, and just good old Southern style. I am always looking for new recipes and ideas. I also just finished culinary school and am working as a line cook in a country club. Feel free to friend me if you like!

theres lots of room to adjust here and seasonings are all "guess-timates," basically this is just something really easy to throw together that looks nice on the table

Does anyone experiment with flavours?

This may sound odd to some people, but I add teriyaki chicken to my alfredo, and it is so GOOD.

Do you do anything experimental like that?

tuna fish...
well here is my dilemma, i am moving out of my current apartment in about less than 2 months, and i have to finish most of the food i have. most of it isn't a problem. but i have 11 cans of tuna fish!! i can't think of what to do with it... i've made it into sandwiches, salads and also into a baked dish, but i want a change!! :)

Let the challenge begin!
